Kids' Summer Mathematics Camps

The Columbus Regional Mathematics Collaborative offers summer mathematics camps for students in grades 3 through 8, designed to actively engage students in exploring and learning mathematics.  MATH-tagious Camp (formerly PSI Camp) is for students entering 3rd-5th grades, PRIME Camp is for girls entering 6th-8th grades, and POWER Camp is for boys entering 6th-8th grades.  The camps provide students with fun and engaging, hands-on mathematics activities designed to encourage their interest in mathematics.

Summer camps will be held at St. Luke School, 1043 Third Avenue, Columbus, Georgia.

MATH-Tagious Camp

        Date:  June 26-30, 2017, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

       Cost:  $75.00

For girls and boys entering 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.  Join us for an interactive, hands-on, minds-on good time with mathematics!  We will explore and solve problems, play games, engage in hands-on activities, and ... Be careful, though!!  The fun and learning is contagious!  It spreads easily from instructors to campers!  Designed for students who love math or say they hate it, campers will be encouraged to think outside of the classroom and see how math relates to real life through problem solving and math discussions.

PRIME Camp for Middle Grades Girls

       Date:  June 26-30, 2017, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

       Cost:  $139.00

For girls entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  PRIME Camp -- where math is to be enjoyed, not dreaded!  Math is so much more than just numbers, worksheets and homework!  If you already love math, the PRIME activities will convince you even more.  If you think math is just one period each day in school, you'll leave with a new perspective.  Join us to experience math as interesting, useful and, yes, great fun.  Enthusiastic camp instructors look forward to sharing their love of math through art, games, puzzles, science, and technology.  How and why does math relate to you?  Let PRIME Camp show you!   

PRIME Camp is the Math Collaborative's longest-running camp.  Girls frequently remember their PRIME Camp experiences fondly even after finishing college.

** Campers should bring a sack lunch.  Water and snacks will be provided during the day.

POWER Camp for Middle Grades Boys

       Date:  June 26-30, 2017, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

       Cost: $139.00

For boys entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  Are you interested in sports statistics, architecture, art and design, rockets, games, puzzles, and/or technology?  If you are, then you like math (whether you know it or not!).  During POWER Camp explore these topics through hands-on activities, not boring drills and homework.  See how math connects to the real world -- the world outside of a textbook.  Whether you are good at math or think it isn't your best subject, POWER Camp is the place for you.  Get ready to do the work of mathematicians -- being active, not just sitting at a desk -- to learn how math impacts your world.

The Math Collaborative has some monies available, for participants who qualify, to offer students partial scholarships to attend MATH-Tagious Camp, PRIME Camp or POWER Camp.
